Look at all of those goodies!!

Now I have to confess…. I haven’t put away all of my Easter goodies yet, so I need to do that to make room for (more) things. For now I have found them a temporary home. The sheep, did I tell you I love sheep?? Well anyway he has made a home in this cabinet for now. He has a star on him and a little bell around his collar. And of course, he is red white and blue and weighted in the bottom. I don’t think he is going anywhere. SO CUTE!!

The adorable pillow has been moved, for now, to the guest room rocking chair. It just seemed to fit right in.GEDC0875

The rusty star found a home on my Apple Picking ladder along with an American quilt and another twig star.

GEDC0869

This adorable birdhouse that Becky put together and painted, along with the help of her hubby, found it’s way to the top shelf next to a favorite crock filled with greens.

I absolutely love this!!

GEDC0876

Oh my!! And when I opened the box, this was on the top!! A crow with a strawberry in his mouth, perched on a pedestal!! (Anybody that knows me, knows that I love crow’s anytime of the year.)Becky made this and it is so awesome. He looks so happy up on top of this cabinet with the other crow’s.

GEDC0879

Also in the top of the box was this simple but so sweet hand made star. Becky does the nicest work. I love the color of the material don’t you???!! For now it is resting on the knob of this cabinet in the living room.

And that’s not it….she also included two wonderfully smelling tarts as well, in spice and cinnamon. MMMMMM heavenly!!

Thank you again Becky for the wonderful goodies and for the friendship! I truly feel blessed!

I just love American don’t you??!!! Well if you do, come back to my next post because I will have a few more Americana pics and I also will be having a giveaway. I had a birthday last month (a big one), and I want to give you a gift!! It is also the one year anniversary of my very first blog post.

Thank you for stopping by! I love hearing from all of you, even if I don’t get a chance to respond. I am blest to have so many friends here in blog land. Blessings for a wonderful weekend.

Far across the distance…….

The Titanic, the world's largest and most luxurious ocean liner, was traveling from England to New York when it struck an iceberg at 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912. It sank less than three hours later, with the loss of all but 700 of the 2,208 passengers and crew.

A century on, events around the globe are marking a tragedy that retains its grip on the world's imagination.

My Birthday gift; and a few new listings

GEDC0723

I had mentioned earlier that I would share my birthday gift from my hubby at another time. Well here is some of it.

GEDC0738

It was a large box full of pewter. I had mentioned that I would like to start collecting pewter a while back and we had looked at some at a local antique shop. So this is what he surprised me with on my birthday.

GEDC0736

GEDC0728

Now I don’t know much about it at all, so I would welcome any and all information that anyone has. How to tell the age, how to clean….  All I know is that  it would look nice in a new cabinet or hutch that will be made to hold it. Next on the to do list. Always changing things up. You know!!

Proverbs 31: 10-14

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Hoping everyone had a great weekend. We had a good time here. We went to an Easter sonrise service, Easter breakfast and then church service. Had all of the family over for some yummy dinner and an Easter egg hunt. It turned out to be such a beautiful day her that we decide at the last minute to have dinner outside. So the guys got busy and made a make do table for the patio and we were able to enjoy the nice weather.

Spring Song

by Robert Louis Stevenson

THE air was full of sun and birds,
The fresh air sparkled clearly.
Remembrance wakened in my heart
And I knew I loved her dearly.

The fallows and the leafless trees
And all my spirit tingled.
My earliest thought of love, and Spring's
First puff of perfume mingled.

In my still heart the thoughts awoke,
Came lone by lone together -
Say, birds and Sun and Spring, is Love
A mere affair of weather?
