…….and a Pilgrim couple~ aren’t they adorable??  wouldn’t they look great welcoming your guest to your door for

Thanksgiving Dinner??!!

These items as well as a few others are listed on etsy and also on my Salmonfallsprims Cocarus faacebook page.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~I think Fall is my favorite season because it is such a long season to “decorate”  and there are so many varieties of decorating themes, etc. I usually start  my decorating in mid August  with  sunflowers, and then add apples to the mix, and then I will add mums, pumpkins, cornstalks and of course scarecrows!!
Scarecrows are one of my absolute favorite decorating items, I even leave some out year round. One of my favorites is a scarecrow print that I have had for more than twenty years and it is left out so that I can enjoy it all year round.
125
It has the verse  from Ecclesiastes …….and a season to every purpose under heaven; and it has a scarecrow to represent  each season.
After trick-or-treat,  I will bring out my Pilgrims , and keep everything up until I decorate for Christmas which is usually the day after Thanksgiving. I would like to begin decorating for Christmas earlier as the season is just too short. But the rest of the family just doesn’t get my Christmas spirit, I guess. I actually like all four seasons. God has given us beauty in each and every season and I try to be thankful and look for the good in each.
Is it Fall yet???
I don’t know about you, but I simply can’t wait til Fall.  Even in this 100 degree plus weather, I am thinking Fall. harvest
If you are a crafter and are getting things together for Fall (and Winter ~ did I say that out loud??!!) ,than you need to be in the Fall  frame of mind. I have only just begun, but have so many projects in the making.
Give-Away ~ giving and receiving
I would like to share with you a gift that I have received and ask you about having a give-away.
blog-8
First  things first, this is a picture of  the wonderful gift that I have received from Village Candle. Village Candle is a company from Topsham Maine, that makes handmade candles with “Olde Yankee Pride”.They have a variety of scents and wrappings for there candles and also have  assorted tarts and burners. Right now I have  orange cinnamon in my new burner and the house smells so wonderful. Thank you to Village Candle for this wonderful give-away  gift!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As this is the second give-away that I have won I was thinking that it would be nice if I had a give-away of my own. I have a few ideas of an item to “give-away”, I am just not sure how to go about it. I would welcome any and all ideas as to how to proceed with the process. Please leave me you ideas and I will be back soon with a “picture” of the item.

The Ultimate indoor fun…..for a little boy!

Is this the ultimate gift for a little boy???? I believe that it is, but I would love to hear your opinion.

sfc1

I thought that I would share with you the gift that we gave my grandson for his first birthday.  It was almost a year ago and we were looking for just the right gift for a first birthday, for our first grandson! Well we had all kinds of  ideas, but a play table just kept sticking out in our minds. We had looked at all kinds. Lego tables, train tables,etc. Well we thought that we could build one that was a little more personal. This is what we came up with, a play table  and benches with a removable top. You simply can pull the top right off and it reveals a “little town” underneath.

blog-13

The “little town” has lots of personal touches that remind our daughter of  the area where she grew up. We included the beach where we used to live about a half hour away, the Goldenrod- a favorite salt water  shoppe at the beach; her favorite ice cream shop- Lone Oak;

sfc

a mechanic shop- referring to our sons occupation; a golf course  referring to our other son who had a passion for golf; daddy’s work; farms and construction sites; you know, all of the basics for a little boy to enjoy and for his mom to have a trip down memory lane.

blog-14

Well it’s our grandsons second birthday next week and we are dry!! We don’t have an idea for this years giftHELP!!!!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We may find our selves wandering down the aisle’s of one of those “big box stores”.

Baking with a little green……..

What do you do with all of that  zucchini that you find yourself with this time of year???  I would love for you to share your  favorite zucchini recipes with me, as I am always looking for new ideas.

flag-5

 I have an awesome recipe for zucchini bread. The top is so crunchy, but inside is so moist and yummy. The recipe  is for a small loaf, but with my family I can never do anything small, so I usually double it and sometimes double double. If by chance that there is any left after a few days, I usually freeze it and it freezes really well. flag-7

This time it made a large angel food pan, and two dozen muffins. Years ago I always got in the habit of making muffins along with the loaf cake, since I always had hungry little ones not wanting to wait til the large cake was done. It also left me an in tack cake to serve or take along with us for a special occasion.

Below is the recipe for a single loaf size bread. Give it a try and tell me what you think.
