Spring is on it’s way…..

GEDC0269

I think I have spring fever. I am not very chatty today, kinda in a zone. I get that way when I am creating. Do you?? This bed looks so comfy, I could crawl in right now.

GEDC0252

Spring is on it’s way. This is in my backyard. Blooms! Its is always exciting to see a little glimpse of spring.

GEDC0263

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! - Mark Twain

GEDC0264

I have been creating a few new items for etsy and for the grandchildren. Go on over to my etsy and see what's new.(Just click on the pic below) Here is a sneak peak.

So thankful, and playing catch up…

GEDC0193

That nasty flu bug hit me last week, and I am still trying to catch up. I woke up Valentines day with that nasty stomach flu. I was out of it for quite a few days. I don’t usually get sick, but when I do  it is awful!! I did have wonderful caregivers while I was sick though.lol My daughters and grandchildren stopped by on Valentines to drop off some goodies for me and for Papa. Papa was home so he spent the day taking car of me. I received flowers, gifts, and cards. Boy am I spoiled.

GEDC0140

I also received a few boxes in the mail. One box contained New cell phones, mine had stopped working and I was out of touch with everyone. So this past week  have had to try to figure out the new phone. It seems that once you figure out a phone you need a new one. Sorry if I have called anyone unintentionally this week. lol (hubby made an 11 minute call across country- oh well). Another box was something that I had ordered for spring.

GEDC0195

This adorable beeswax bunny, riding a chicken is so adorable. It is created by Willow B Primitives. She is on facebook and you can Click on the pic to bring you to her etsy shop. She also included a cute little surprise. A heart cupboard hang was also included in the box. They both smell so good, it sure perked up my day!! Thank you so much!!

GEDC0192

Both of these items fit right in with my décor.

Not sure where it will stay.

I also ordered these wonderful personalized tumblers from one of my friends. My son-in-laws birthday was this past week and he is a big fan of the San Francisco Giants- and “Fear the Beard” Brain Wilson. Diane from Perfectly Yours created these awesome drink cups for him. Thank you Diane. You can find Diane on facebook at Perfectlyours Personalized Gifs. Click on pic to find her. I know that Joshua really liked his.

GEDC0148

So much going on, so many things to catch up on.

More orders for the American Girls Doll furniture. I love choosing fabric, but it takes me so long. So many choices. I really haven’t had any lessons for sewing, except in Junior High…..years…..ago!! I am considering taking a quilt course. Sounds like fun, more to learn. Here are some of the color choices. So fun.

Happy Valentines Day, planters, and a few questions

Perfect  for  Easter with a lily in it, or several of them for church. This was last year. I have the privilege of decorating the church we attend and this is last Easter. I had hubby whip up a few of these to hold all of the Easter Lilies that were donated in loving memory of some of the parishioners.

This one below is a design that we have done for years now and has been one of our best sellers.  It is so functional and handy. I have had this by my door through the years and always change it up for the season. Here it is with pansies, in the summer it has geraniums, in the fall mums and in the winter greens and white lights.  I also have had one in my dining room in front of the large window filled with bulbs. Picture it with tulips, daffodils, and hyacinth for spring. It also be stained or painted other colors. These are a new addition to my etsy this week. You will find a link to my etsy for these and many other creations on my side bar.

So questions???

What is every one doing for Valentines Day?? Do you celebrate? Or …is it just another day?? Do you have a quiet dinner at home, or do you go out? Do you have a special meal that you make or a special place that you go? I know through the years it wasn’t very easy to get a babysitter on valentines especially for four children, so we usually stayed home. Now we usually watch the grandchildren on special occasions so our children can go out. We had our littlest granddaughter tonight and had lots of fun.

GEDC0137

This is a pic of her with Papa, asking if she could please have a piece of lemon cake. That is what it is all about. Family love.

GEDC0138

I will leave you with this, I am sure that you have all heard it before, but if you are anything like me…..I constantly need a gentle reminder.

1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Welcome to my New England home…..(lots of pics)

Come on in take a walk down memory lane with me. As I was going through boxes of pictures, looking for pics of our New England home,  I was disappointed with what I found at first. After going through boxes and boxes, I realized why I wasn’t finding what I was looking for. I have memories of things, but they weren't captured on film. Life is like that, you have to take it all in so you remember it well, because  in life there are no re-do’s! So I realized as I was going through memory lane in pictures, of why. You see as you go through life there are  things and times when you take pics. When you want to remember a special event. And that is mostly what I have.  Lots and lots of special memory pics. Life has been busy and fulfilling!  When I look back and wonder why I didn’t capture the  renovations of our home or the first garden the children helped us with or the new light fixture that I just had to have, I realize……life was happening. There were  mouths to feed, diapers to change, laundry to do, Church, Sunday School, homework, soccer practice, grocery shopping, cheering competitions, football games under the lights,  chorus concertsbasketball games, special homework projects (up til midnight), sleepovers, birthday parties, family Christmas celebrations, pool parties, well you know ….life. Then there were ailing parents, with special dietary needs, dr appointments,  hospitalizations, surgeries, insulin needles to fill, pills to lay out, heart wrenching medical decisions to be made,…oh you know. Then there was work, hubby usually worked two jobs, and I had two or three as well to keep things running smoothly, as well as volunteering at church and hosting the annual church picnic, sharing our home with those in need at holiday times. Ya, that was our life. As you get older you realize that it went so fast. (I didn’t think that so much in the midst of all the exhausting days). Well here are some pics we did happen to safe, not the best in quality but it is what it is.

We had built “z doors” like this one with the hand hewn iron strap hinges, for most all of the doors in our home.

Lots of room in this old house to spread out. There were five bedrooms, kitchen, dining, den, family room, screen porch. A long hallway with a craft room and a little shop, and many storage closets, all with “z doors”.The hallway was lined with rough wood on one side and bead board on the other. Wide pine boards on the floor here and in the family room……oh I miss them so.!!

There was also a pool, a large deck for entertaining and a place to enjoy a warm fire on a cool evening.
