I love this country! I love being patriotic. The sights and sounds of Americana can be found all through my home and also through who I am. My life has been touched by so many men and women that have served this wonderful country of ours. The sacrifices that they have made. Lives that were given. Lives that were changed as the result of giving all.
I guess that is why I am so bothered by what is going on in this country right now!! I am not sure if you have been following the news, but I have. I am so sickened by the lackadaisical attitude of so many in power in this great country. We need to pray that things get back on track and soon!!! I miss the days when we really had freedoms. Freedom to sing about Christmas in school, freedom to speak our minds without being afraid it will be considered hate speech, or politically correct. There is right and wrong and it is scary to think that every one is doing what is right in his own eyes.
I don’t mean to rant, but I am just so weighed down with the heaviness that is hanging over this country.
Well speaking of this wonderful country that we live in, I have a sign to give to one of you. This sign will take you back in time and remind you of Independence Day 1883.
First I would like to thank all of you that are faithful followers. Thank you for your kind comments and support.
On to the winner~ I did this the olde fashioned way. All of the slips were put in a bowl and the winner was chosen. There were extra names put in for sharing on your blogs and Facebooks etc.
The winner is Karen Martinsen~
Congrats Karen! Please email me your shipping info!!

You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God!
Congrats to Karen! Yes our country needs to get back to it's roots and the people in charge need to start worrying about what's right instead of what will bring them favour for the moment.Warm Blessings!~Amy

ReplyDeleteAnd Sara, I'm exactly the same as you...it's a conversation Jason and I have everyday. We're burdened for our country as well and just praying for our leaders everyday and praying that the truth will be known in full and America's eyes will be opened! It is a heavy burden and I miss those freedoms as well and am so concerned about the direction our country is going.....I want my kids to know the America we knew! Thanks for your words here...it's nice to know others feel the same!
Hugs,
Tammy
