Happy Valentines Day, planters, and a few questions

Perfect  for  Easter with a lily in it, or several of them for church. This was last year. I have the privilege of decorating the church we attend and this is last Easter. I had hubby whip up a few of these to hold all of the Easter Lilies that were donated in loving memory of some of the parishioners.

This one below is a design that we have done for years now and has been one of our best sellers.  It is so functional and handy. I have had this by my door through the years and always change it up for the season. Here it is with pansies, in the summer it has geraniums, in the fall mums and in the winter greens and white lights.  I also have had one in my dining room in front of the large window filled with bulbs. Picture it with tulips, daffodils, and hyacinth for spring. It also be stained or painted other colors. These are a new addition to my etsy this week. You will find a link to my etsy for these and many other creations on my side bar.

So questions???

What is every one doing for Valentines Day?? Do you celebrate? Or …is it just another day?? Do you have a quiet dinner at home, or do you go out? Do you have a special meal that you make or a special place that you go? I know through the years it wasn’t very easy to get a babysitter on valentines especially for four children, so we usually stayed home. Now we usually watch the grandchildren on special occasions so our children can go out. We had our littlest granddaughter tonight and had lots of fun.

This is a pic of her with Papa, asking if she could please have a piece of lemon cake. That is what it is all about. Family love.

I will leave you with this, I am sure that you have all heard it before, but if you are anything like me…..I constantly need a gentle reminder.

1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Blessings ~Sara

  3. Sara, first of all I love that scripture. Secondly, that picket fence flower holder that sets flat would be awesome with a feather tree in it! See I can think Christmas even in February. Have a wonderful week.

  4. Sara: Yes, I, too love the picket fence planters; they are darling, but NOT NEAR AS DARLING as that little grand baby of yours. She is precious! Give her a hug from me...I have no more little ones. =( Thanks for stopping by my blog; so good to hear from you!

Your church is beautifully decorated with all the lilies in the picket planters. Those are adorable! I can see where they would be beautiful with any flower for any season!
