Years ago when the children were little, my sister and I would take a small amount of our budgeted grocery allowance and take an outing to see what we could find for pottery seconds.
Over the years my collection has grown. There were the Birthday and Anniversary gifts, Mothers Day...well you get the point. As I started snapping pics of it all, I just was so unaware of everything that I had collected over the years. I first thought of the lamp next to our beds in the master bedroom, then as I was looking around low and behold it started appearing everywhere, and in every room. The kitchen, the dining room, living room and even the bathroom with my lotion dispensers. I haven't even included the Christmas mugs, plates, ornaments....I guess I will save those for another time. I know there are others stashed away in the hutch's as well. I hope you enjoy the pottery as much as I do. If you ever find yourself in Dover, NH, take a drive over to the railway station on Broadway and have yourself a look. It is so interesting to see the process being hand made right there on the premises. Have a blessed day! ~Sara
Love your blog and posts!
ReplyDeleteWe were at Salmon Falls Pottery many, many years ago just after I started collecting Salt Glaze pottery.
Hoping to go back there again.

Sara,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. I too have many pieces of Salmon Falls Pottery. Salt glaze is my all time favorite. You might be able to tell that. I used to go to Beaumont Pottery for seconds in my younger years. One day trip a year with a girlfriend.

Sara,
ReplyDeleteit will take me years to collect that many pieces but I'm giving it a good start! Like you, I want to surround myself with things that remind me of home...........New Hampshire and New England will always be a part of me even though Idaho has been our home for over 30 years.
Blessings,
Sheila
